120819 Zugspitzrunde
It was "only" 32-34 degrees Centigrade today so we set off early for a "quick" tour round the Zugspitz (the highest mountain in Germany).

Five of us took part and they were all really fit (except me). I was really wondering what I was doing during the last hour of climbing in the sweltering heat.

After a beer at the top things were great again. Amazing how one drink can make such a difference.

The track is at http://www.gpsies.com/map.do?fileId=rlygdegrslnpweaa. 78 kilometers and nearly 1400 meters of climbing. No wonder I was "tired".

In the evening we barbecued. It's a tough life

110828 Breitenberg
Moni suggested a Sunday tour and Jon suggested the Breitenberg. First time this year but still long and steep.

by Jon

The uphill was long and steep - as always on the Breitenberg. The downhill was amazing as always. I got a puncture and Jon went over the handlebars. Karin roode everything which she was very proud of.

110814 Gräner Ödenalpe
29°C in the shade, 73km and almost 1200 meters of climbing. A great tour in to the Austrian Alps but we were all glad to be home.

We rode to the Gräner Ödenalpe ( http://www.oedenalpe.at/ ) passing the Nesselwängle Ödenalpe and Krinnenspitzalm. Track is at http://www.gpsies.com/map.do?fileId=wadxvtkeihrkeqpg

100822 Roßbergalp
A "Sunday Group 2" tour. Just six of us at a very easy pace. A great day with an amazing lunch (as always when we visit Gabi).

100725 Roßberalpe
A Sunday tour as suggested by Jon. We rode up to our favourite Alm in the whole of Ajjgäu. The food and drink was spectacular as always. Thanks Gabi!

Jon had to be back early so he rode straight back from the Alm.

The rest of us then did a high speed descent in to the Iller valley. As we were cycling along beside the river Julius's gear changer suddenly broke for no reason. I waited until he was picked up by his neighbour and then cycled the 25kms home alone along the road.

My track is at http://www.gpsies.com/map.do?fileId=azvdhmehqqqqzdvd 75kms with nearly 1300m of ascent. No wonder I can still feel it in my legs.

A Sunday tour from Nesselwang to Garmisch. The sort of day that makes it worth living. Great route, great weather, great people. Fantastic. We caught the train back for 10 Euros per person.

Billed from Jon and Gustav as a "flat" tour on "tarmac". It was nearly 80 kms with a climb of 1300 meters. And there was enough mud to get absolutely filthy.
