110519 Büronhütte

Thursday Bikers. 11 started out and 3 made it to the Bistro. Two turned round at the top of the first hill, four as the rain approached and two more went home wet through.

110503 Seven lakes tour

110501 May Day Grüntensee

I have had a cold for a week now so have not been out biking once. Today I wrapped up warm and took the race bike out for a spin around the Grüntensee.
As you can see, spring has now arrived in Allgäu. Great for those of us without hay fever.

110423 Edelsberg

Max and I cycled to Pfronten and then back over the Edelsberg. The first "real mountain biking this year. Only 25 kms but 750 meters of climbing.
As you can see in the picture, there is still some snow in the mountains.
Track is at http://www.gpsies.com/map.do?fileId=btibpvcwphbyfikg and yes it felt as steep as it looks in the profile, particularly the bit at about 14 kms. I pushed that. I just can not ride that steep on loose stones.

For various reasons today was not so good. But this great 45 km race bike tour with Heidi cheered me up immensely. 410 meters of climbing but a lot of long enjoyable descents. The views back in to the mountains were amazing with the snow filled mountains rising above the sea of yellow dandelions.

Moni, Heidi, Jon and I out on our race bikes. Were very motivated so Seeg, Kirchtal, Lengenwang, Rückholz and home. Almost 35 kms. Back just after sunset.

Ten of us cycled the 174 km to Walkertshofen and back in two days. Nearly 1500 meters of climbing. Not bad for spring.

At lunch time Jon rang up to ask if we wanted to go Geocaching. Yes Please!
Cycled to Rehbichl for the first cache ( http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=79abbfa3-e727-4200-bfbf-5ab8b80300ca ) and then on to Speiden for the second ( http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=e886568d-68f0-4f58-89b5-73219cd3818c ).
Went in to the brewery for a coffee but got a beer put in front of us so we drank that :-)

110409 Wertach Vils

From Nesselwang to the Grüntensee and then up the Wertach to Unterjoch. Across in to Austria and then back down beside the Vils to Pfronten. Coffee at Matthias and Evi's and then via the Attlesee (visting Max to scrounge chocolate) home. An enjoyable Saturday afternoon.
