Life is not a Practice

The annual "Heidi and Neill Race Bike Tour".
Nesselwang to Munich. 150km through Bavaria. Visited places I had never been before including the towns of Schongau and Weilheim and the monastory at Andechs. At Andechs they have been brewing beer for hundreds of years so we tried some.



In Munich we ate lunch in the pedestrian zone and then went to the English Garden to watch the wave surfers, eat ice cream and enjoy the sun.



Caught the train home and then cycled the last bit from Seeg to Nesselwang which put our totals for the day at 165km and 1500m of climbing.

A great tour planned by Gabi. A nice ride along the Vils river valley, a killer climb 750m in to the mountains. An amazing descent on loose gravel tracks and then back along the river valley. Great fun, great people and great food.

Just got down off the Riedberger Horn and Karin Korn rang and convinced me that I wanted to go cycling.
Over the Edelsberg and then down the trail to the Stubetal Alp for sausage and chips before returning home.

Hard afternoon at work. Walked up the Riedbergerhorn to check it out as a relay site for a project we are working on. The original "hard day in the office".

We cycled through Vilstal and then up the Pfeifferberg and finally finished with a drink at the Untere Reuttewanne Alp before cycling round the lake home.

Three of us out tonight. It was threatening to rain so we stayed near home. Still managed nearly 40km and 490hm though.

Crazy race biking. Up the Ellegg and back down and then back over the Kranzegger Steig. Sort of mountain biking with a race bike.

Out in the rain again. Thunder and puring rain so we hid in the Untere Reuttewane Alpe until the worst was over.

Thursday evening and six of us rode up to the Vilser Alm. On the way got caught in a 10 minute tropical downpour complete with lightning and thunder.



After a drink at the Alm we cycled to the Kögelweiher for a swim and then back to the Bistro for a coffee. Great summer evening.

After the few kilometers during the day to get warm, 50km and 600hm in the evening with the race bikes. Just Heidi and I. Then afterwards we went to a birthday party. It is a tough life but some one has to do it.
